Care? Letters 5 years old, unopened!

Mum moves flat
Out of control. That's Mum's own situation, manipulated whenever she can be
When, in preparation for her move, I see a pile of newspapers and unwanted circulars by the front door I was going to throw them out. THEN I look underneath, UNOPENED LETTERS from Centrica and others. One is 5 years old, 2007.
There are cheques inside in Mum's name
Amounts, just small sums from Mum's meagre savings in shares, several , £15, £6 etc etc, share dividends, those kind of sums. Poor Mum.
NOW re-issuing these cheques costs more than their value, say the companies concerned.
This is care, Davis call it so! Every week many teachers, ex teachers and Caligula come here.
That says it all, they cannot be bothered to open the post by the front door, they almost walk on it.
