Letter to Peterborough City Council asking for guidance, ... from a simple returnee!

Dear Sirs,
Care – Ernest James FRANCIS dob 24.5.1923 8 South Parade – a returnee asks …….

I would like to thank the Council, and those who have helped my Dad in the past,
and there have been many, I realise. Thank you, for your financial support,
tolerance and help, rendered in difficult times, I haven’t myself seen any ‘good
times’, but perhaps you have. My Dad was always a ‘difficult’ individual. But he was
himself always grateful for what others did, I know he would write this passage were he able. Thanks.
Now, could I move on.

1. You’ll be aware, those that need to be aware, of a series of
protestations/appeals/pleas/ultimatums and just ‘rants’, those too….,that I have
directed at my sister Mrs Marie Davis 20 Mayfield Rd during 2012. Social Services
are.
2. In directing my energies (rants and others) I have not always acted
sensibly.
I am not ‘cool and collected’, illogical often, such is my inner fury at
this sad episode in dad’s life.
3. IN trying to see how things work here (I left P.boro at 25 returning 3 yrs
ago, I was mostly abroad) and getting used to the UK’s ways I have not followed
sequentially, logically through a ‘pathway’. I need to backtrack and ask you politely these question, if I may
a) ‘Why do so many professionals come into this house and it is like this?’ A reference to the sub-standard conditions at 8 South Parade, ( I paraphrase) The individual also said that he was pleased his own mother, who had passed away when we spoke (Jul/Aug2012), had not had to endure such conditions. The question – have issues regarding conditions at Dad’s house been raised? Doctor, Nurses, care staff – have they been reported and recorded by these, others? That’s all – WHAT please, is ON RECORD from the ‘Pro’s’??

b) WHEN in March 2012 I detailed MY concerns, health and safety, provisions, sanitary, demeaning torn clothing etc., WHAT happened? SS letter March 2012, photos. Did anything happen.? What was it please?
c) What observations, suggestions or advice has been given to my sister? Has she been told, warned? We are talking about ‘HUMAN RIGHTS’, ‘dignity’,’ decency, ‘best interests’ and those sorts of things, you’ll be aware of that?

So that I can be better informed I would kindly ask you to expedite a reply. Despite months of appeals to SS I do not appear to have cracked much (not SS’s fault) I am sure that is my fault and that you may be able to advise me as to where I go from here. Presently, the questions above, if you could help with those, will suffice.

There must be dialogue, letter writing per se will not do it. The silence of those around such issues renders their personae more mysterious and even sinister does it not? That’s where some of my neurosis comes from I expect!!
